952

USB port sharing detected.

The protected software found a local dongle (Lite or Plus) that is being shared over the network by third-party software, but the protected software is configured not to allow this.

955–959 and 968

The protected software cannot create a subprocess. This subprocess is created by Shell-protected Windows software with the extra anti-debug feature enabled.

These errors can occur when antivirus software prevents the subprocess file from being created or executed. To resolve this issue in the short term, add the subprocess file or its containing folder to the antivirus software's exception list. The filename begins with DPMon and the file is located in C:\ProgramData.

For a permanent solution, check the antivirus software's log for a full description of the reason the file was blocked, and send this information to our support team.

The dongle is marked as blocked in DinkeyOMS.

If you have done this in error then you can unblock the dongle through DinkeyOMS or, if the customer does not have internet access, by issuing an offline remote update code.

974

The dongle is using the DinkeyOMS blocking feature but has not connected to DinkeyOMS recently.

Solution: the customer should run OMSRuntime on a computer with internet access with the dongle attached. [Note - the customer will need to do this at least every N days (where N is set by the developer in the DinkeyOMS portal). The easiest solution is to run OMSRuntime continually so this happens automatically].

If this error becomes a problem for the customer because they do not have a reliable internet connection then you could consider removing the dongle blocking feature for this dongle.

The software owner would typically mark a dongle as blocked if the customer reported it as lost, damaged or stolen. A dongle can only be blocked if the dongle blocking feature is enabled. Even if a dongle is blocked then if the customer is offline they might be able to use the dongle for up to N days, before getting error 974. If they are online the dongle is blocked immediately and will give error 973.
